My grandmother was a holy, beautiful woman of God. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul, and mind. Whenever you came in contact with her no matter where she was whether at home cooking, taking care of her family or at church, she always used to say with a big beautiful smile on her face, “When I think about the Lord, and all He has done for me...my soul cries out HALLELUJAH, thank God for saving me!”

As a young girl, I didn't really understand or know how powerful those words really were my grandmother spoke. But through the years as I have grown up, taking care of my family and learning to lean on God’s everlasting love...I know exactly what my grandmother meant when she spoke those words.

In our lives today, there are many things that continually compete for our time and attention every day! Our kids need mommy urgently to bandage and kiss a booboo, our husbands need us to cook dinner, our family and friends need us to call and chat for a while, and we certainly can’t forget that report deadline due at work tomorrow!

You know ladies, if we are not careful, we can easily get distracted and caught up in the busyness of life and our personal time with our heavenly Father becomes less and less each day. We might think, “Okay, I’m going to stop and read my Bible for a while right after dinner” or “I’ll pray and spend some time with God right before I go to bed” and the next thing you know...you are peacefully sound asleep, snoring, and your Bible is hanging off the side of your bed. I must confess, I have been there so many times before! We have to be careful not to get stuck in a rut of routine.

It is so important that in the midst of our hectic and busy schedules that we make time in our day, every day to rest in God. To truly find a quiet place, rest in His presence and reflect on His goodness, grace, and mercy in our lives.
